Dorm staff will assume a role of leadership in all aspects of residence hall living. A positive contribution is expected in the areas of academics, social/education programming, interpersonal relationships, and dorm life. Dorm staff will consistently attempt to facilitate and maintain a "team" spirit in conducting all summer program activities.

Tutor/Counselor Description :

Tutor/Counselors help supervise and plan dorm activities, give academic and social guidance to students, provide live-in supervision and tutorial assistance and monitor student performance. TC's are also expected to help motivate and encourage students to work hard academically during the summer and to act as role models for students.

Counselors will be available to Upward Bound students 24 hours per day to provide individualized tutoring and personal support, as needed. Tutor/Counselors will consistently attempt to facilitate and maintain a staff "team" spirit in conducting all summer program activities.

Tutor/Counselors will enforce the student life policy, monitor students in the dorm and in classroom settings, supervise field trips, plan and supervise group activities, and much more.  Tutor/Counselors report directly to the Dorm Coordinator/Counselor, as well as the full-time staff.
