Biography
Tom began working with Talent Search/Upward Bound in 1982, after he received his Master's Degree from Virginia Tech. He served with the Highland County public school system (1979-1981) where he taught music at three county schools, was the high school band director and coached basketball. He has served as the Choir Director at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg for over twenty years. Tom is very active in TRIO issues at the state, regional and national levels.  During his spare time, Tom is a Hokie fan and an avid golfer (avid does not equal good), plays the drums, readis, listens to music, and plays with his dogs (Newman and Mikey).
