The Upward Bound Summer Program - A Real University Experience

Students selected to participate in the Upward Bound program are provided with an opportunity to experience what college life is like while still in high school.

Each summer students in Upward Bound attend a six-week summer component on the Virginia Tech campus.  Students attend academic classes in English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages, S.A.T. prep, computer science and other elective courses.  They experience a college setting while living in Virginia Tech dormitories, eating in the cafeteria, attending classes and much more.  While on campus students also take field trips to various colleges, can partipate in group sports, a talent show, get to meet students from other schools in southwest and central Virginia.
